Mentoring Partners

In 1996, I began asking God for 5 persons who would carry on the kind of coaching and mentoring I am doing– after I ride into the sunset.   However, my intent from day one has been to develop persons – not to build another organization.    I envisioned multiplying the number of mentors and Mentoring Circles that could exponentially broaden the impact of leadership mentoring far beyond me or Hope Network Ministries.

For the last 12 years I have been praying that these key persons would surface from among the hundreds of leaders going through my Mentoring Circles.

God has answered my prayers in spades:  Not just five, but ten persons have emerged who now lead mentoring groups!  And they have joined me in a consortium of Mentor-Consultants that we call Mentoring Partners.

A note of disclaimer:  these Mentoring Partners are not employed by or in any way legally or financially connected to Hope Network Ministries.  Rather, they are a group experienced and seasoned volunteers who partner with me carry in the kind of mentoring I have pioneered.

Each partner has identified the top contribution he/she brings to the consortium.  We have also identified common core values that drive the Mentoring Partners. And all partners have signed on to a Group Covenant, on what we can expect of each other.

For 12 years, I have personally led all Hope Network year-long Mentoring Circles (some times as many as seven a month) and all Hope Network leadership seminars and consulting. But now I hand off most mentoring, consulting and seminar requests to Mentoring Partners.  My Mentoring Circle nowadays is this consortium Mentoring Partners.

The Mentoring Partners stay in regular contact with each other and remain available to each other.    We meet annually in a four day renewal retreat - to tweak procedures and to learn from each other.

Another disclaimer: Some of the Mentoring Partners are moving toward full time Mentoring and Consulting. However currently all have ‘day jobs,’ which means of course that not all are equally available. So noodle around the MentorNetwork site and meet the Mentoring Partners one by one, as their faces and areas of expertise become posted.  And maybe read some of their featured articles. For sure, jump into the conversation at Swap Shop.
