Dr. Lynn Anderson is the founder of Hope Network Ministries, which is dedicated to coaching, mentoring and equipping church leaders. His fifty plus years in ministry include eleven years of church planting in his native Canada. He then served as Senior Minister of the Highland Church in Abilene, Texas for 19 years, and later as Senior Minister of Preston Road Church in Dallas. Lynn taught graduate courses in ministry as an adjunct professor at Abilene Christian University for more than 20 years, as well as a course at Pepperdine University.
He has authored several well-known books including They Smell Like Sheep Volume 1: Spiritual Leadership for the 21st Century, If I Really Believe, Why Do I Have These Doubts?, The Jesus Touch, The Shepherd's Song, and Longing for a Homeland. His most recent book is titled They Smell Like Sheep Volume 2: Leading with the Heart of a Shepherd. He also contributes to Wineskins Magazine and several other periodicals including Leadership Magazine, Leaven Magazine, 21st Century Christian, In Touch Magazine, The Christian Standard, and various web sites including Heartlight.org.
Lynn has consulted with hundreds of churches, coaching leaders through transition and equipping them with shepherding skills and other tools for spiritual maturity. Lynn and Carolyn, his wife of 51 years, live in San Antonio, Texas. His hobbies are reading, skiing, back-packing, hunting, fishing, jogging and ‘watching way too much football and basketball.’
Writing, mentoring and equipping, and church planting are Lynn’s passions. Carolyn leads Christian women’s retreats, with a special passion for mentoring pastors’ wives. Her hobbies are hanging out with grandchildren, reading, antiques, gardening – and world travel.
Lynn and Carolyn have 4 children, 8 (soon 9) grandchildren, and 1 (soon 2) great-grandchildren.
Their daughter Michele, and her husband Wes English live in San Antonio, TX. The English's have a daughter, Shaylea, who is married to Matthew McMillan and are parents of Shiloh (Lynn and Carolyn's first great grand-child.), a son Travis, who is a student at Baylor, and a daughter Mariah who is in high-school.
The Anderson’s second daughter Debbie and husband Randy Boggs live in San Antonio. The Boggs’ have two daughters, Andress, who lives in Washington D.C. and Caitlin, married to Josh Lee and living in Florida.
Their eldest son Jon and his wife Joanna, also live in San Antonio. Their children are Abby, Conner, and Ana.
The youngest, Chris Anderson and his wife Marion Durand live in New York City and are expecting their first child in the Spring 2008.
